Schools Fitness

For the last 4 years Matt Holland Fitness has been working very closely with a number of both Primary & Secondary schools as well as local education authorities throughout the north of England providing a variety of out of school hour’s fitness clubs for children between 7 and 16 years old. We also offer curriculum time cover for lessons if needed. In addition to all this we offer highly motivational staff fitness sessions and expert nutritional advice as well as posture correction for both children and adults.

“I would recommend Matt Holland Fitness’s training sessions to anyone who is interested in keeping fit and looking good! He is a really great motivator and our staff have benefited from our weekly sessions. We look better, feel better and stress levels are definitely lower-and the choice of music is sound!!!”

With schools Fitness, our primary role is to promote a daily health and fitness plan within a fun and challenging atmosphere. Our services include Bootcamp Circuits, Zumbatomic, Childrens Martial Arts Aerobics and Boxercise (both non-contact). We also provide Cheerleading coaching for all levels, a form of exercise that is currently very popular in many schools. For the adults we have various services including the newest thing in fitness, Zumba Fitness, as well as Bootcamp Circuits, Legs, Bums and Tums and Boxercise. All the exercises provided can accommodate any fitness or ability level and are all highly motivational as well as being loads of fun for all of the children (or staff !) involved.

Bootcamp Circuits

Taken as an indoor or outdoor session (if school field is available) Bootcamp Circuits are a high intensity, fun and extremely motivating fitness session that everyone will enjoy. Each “station” in the Circuit works different muscles including, most importantly, the heart. It is an all over body workout that will help improve skills such as balance, coordination, strength and agility as well as keeping those cardiovascular muscles strong.

Zumba Fitness & Zumbatomic

The newest and definitely the biggest thing in group fitness. Zumba Fitness is the Latin music inspired dance/fitness session that gives all participants a fantastic workout while at the same time having lots of fun. (please see Zumba post for more information). Zumbatomic is simply Zumba Fitness that has been adapted to suit children. Again, it’s loads of fun and lets the children learn a bit about other cultures.

Boxercise

Learn great new skills in this non contact version of boxing. Using gloves and pads, skipping and medicine balls to name but a few this is a great way to learn different moves and also grow in self confidence. A high intensity workout while at the same time great fun!

Cheerleading

Inspired by the hit tv show “Glee” this is a must for any school girl (or boy) who wants to build self esteem and confidence while at the same time learning lots of great moves. High energy and loads of fun!

Martial Arts Aerobics

Similar to Boxercise but incorporating more Martial Arts moves with legs and feet being used alot more. Great fun and a fantastic way to build self confidence as well as coordination skills. (Only available in Wigan, Bolton and Chorley at this time)

We strongly believe that with our high levels of professionalism and continuous support, that Matt Holland Fitness’s structured classes and advice can help to win over the battle against child obesity as we aim to promote the huge benefits of starting a regular exercise programme at as early an age as possible.

“I know the children really enjoy working with the various instructors and I will certainly continue to use Matt Holland Fitness’s services as we look to launch a family circuit training or adult only circuit training club. Very highly recommended!”

Benefits of exercise - Children will :

  • have stronger muscles and bones
  • have a leaner body because exercise helps control body fat
  • be less likely to become overweight
  • decrease the risk of developing type 2 diabetes
  • possibly lower blood pressure and blood cholesterol levels
  • have a better outlook on life
  • Boost concentration levels in school

Besides enjoying the health benefits of regular exercise, kids who are physically fit sleep better and are better able to handle physical and emotional challenges — from running to catch a bus to studying for a test.
